Road construction and a triathlon to impact local roadways

Ada County - The Spring Sprint Triathlon, as well as several local road construction projects, will impact traffic on several Ada County roadways.

-    The Spring Sprint Triathlon will be held Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Approximately 350 participants are expected, and Boise Police and the Boise Motor Escort will be assisting. The race course is as follows:

o The route for the bike course:

-    Start in Camels Back Park

-    West on Heron Street to 13th Street


-    North on 13th Street and turn west onto Hill Road

-    North onto 15th Street to Parkhill Drive


-    West onto Parkhill Drive to Bogus Basin Road

-    North on Bogus Basin Road to Curling Drive (Turn around point)

-    South on Bogus Basin Road to Hill Road

-    West onto Hill Road

-    Take Hill Road west to 36th Street

-    Continue west on Hill Road to Collister Drive

-    Continue west on Hill Road to Pierce Park Lane


-    Continue west on Hill Road towards Gary Lane

-    Turn around 300 feet east of Gary Lane; proceed east on Hill Road back to 13th Street

-    South on 13th Street to the finish line at Camels Back Park

o The route for the running course:

-    Start at Camels Back Park

-    Turn left onto Heron Street to 9th Street

-    Left on 9th Street and continue through the Willow area

-    Proceed to 8th Street (Sunset Peak) and turn left (north)

-    Turn left (west) at the Watertower access road. (Not in ACHD right of way)


-    Proceed south and west to 9th Street


-    Finish at Camels Back Park

-    15th Street at the alley between Main Street and Idaho Street will have lane restrictions with flagging on April 11-12 for overhead cable TV replacement.

-    The intersection of 15th Street and Front Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 10-11 for water main work.

-    26th Street between Hill Road and Smith Avenue will be closed April 11-13. No access will be allowed between Hill Road and Neff Court.

-    6th Street between Front Street and Myrtle Street will be closed April 10-14, again between April 17-21 for a CCDC Streetscape Project

-    9th Street north of Main Street to south of Broad Street will have nighttime and weekend lane restrictions on April 14-15 for sewer work.

-    Broadway Avenue between Meridian Road and NW 2nd Street will be closed April 10-14 for sewer and storm water work.

-    Curtis Road south of Robertson Drive will have lane restrictions April 10-14 for underground cable work.

-    Eagle Road between Highway 44 and Floating Feather Road will have lane restrictions with flagging at night for crack sealing.

-    Emerald Street west of Mark Stall Place will have lane restrictions April 10-21 for underground fiber work.

-    Fairview Avenue west of Cloverdale Road will have nighttime lane restrictions April 10-15 for water main installation.

-    Five Mile Road between McMillan Road and Pattie Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 12 for utility work.

-    Franklin Road between Black Cat Road and Ten Mile Road, will be closed over the weekend April 8-9 for sewer work. No access will be allowed between Umbria Hills and Zimmerman Lane.

-    Front Street north of Park Boulevard will have lane restrictions April 10-12 for manhole access.

-    Gary Lane between State Street and Saxton Drive will be closed at night April 13-14 for sewer work. No access will be allowed between State Street and Bunch Court.

-    Glenwood Street northbound approaching State Street will have nighttime lane restrictions April 13-14 for sewer work.

-    Glenwood Street northbound approaching Riverside Drive will have nighttime lane restrictions April 12-13 for sewer work.

-    McMillan Road between Eagle Road and Five Mile Road, will have nighttime lane restrictions with flagging for crack sealing pavement.

-    Pierce Park Lane south of Hill Road will have lane restrictions with flagging April 10-14 for a sewer tap and frontage work.

-    Ten Mile Road between Chateau Drive and Muirfield Drive will have lane restrictions April 12-21 for underground fiber work.

-    Ten Mile Road south of Chateau Drive will have nighttime lane restrictions April 10-12 for fiber repair work.

-    Victory Road between Meridian Road and Standing Timber Way will have lane restrictions April 11-14 for overhead cable work.

-    The intersection of Victory Road and Meridian Road will have nighttime lane restrictions with flagging April 11-14 for overhead cable work.

Motorists can expect delays in these areas, and are advised to use caution. Alternate routes of travel should be chosen whenever possible.
