Bicycle race and road construction to impact Ada County roads

Ada County - The Spring Breakout Series bicycle race, as well as several road construction projects, will impact local roadways beginning as early as tomorrow:


-    The Spring Breakout Series bicycle race will be held April 1, 15th and 29th. The race begins at 8 a.m. and will be finished by 3 p.m. Over 150 participants are expected, and Boise Motor Escort will be assisting with the event. The race route is as follows:

o    Start on S. Cloverdale Road south of Poen Road

o    North on S. Cloverdale Road to W. Poen Road

o    West on W. Poen Road to Swan Falls Road

o    North on Swan Falls Road to King Road

o    East on King Road to Eagle Road

o    South on Eagle Road to Kuna Mora Road

o    East on Kuna Mora Road to S. Cloverdale Road

o    To race is to finish just south of W. Poen Road


-    The intersection of 16th Street and Front Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-4 for water main work.


-    1st Street between Broadway Avenue and Pine Avenue will be closed April 5-June29 to rebuild the road, sewer and storm water work.


-    3rd Street between Bannock Street and Idaho Street will be closed April 3-14 for a sewer main replacement.


-    4th Street (northwest) between Washington Street and Idaho Avenue, and Pine Avenue between Meridian Road and Linder Road will be closed April 1. No access will be allowed through Pine Avenue and the northwest 4th Street intersection.


-    6th Street between Hays Street and Washington Street will have lane restrictions April 3-7 for manhole access.

-    Benjamin Lane south of Emerald Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 2 for power work.


-    The intersection of Benjamin Lane and Westpark Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3 for utility work.


-    Black Cat Road between Daphne Street and McMillan Road will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-21 for utility work.


-    Capitol Boulevard (east side) between Main Street and Idaho Street will have bike lane, parking and pedestrian restrictions April 3-September 5 for the Boise City Hall Plaza Renovation.


-    Curtis Road south of Cassia Street to Camas Lane will have lane restrictions April 4 for utility work.


-    Horseshoe Bend Road north of Arnold Road will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-4 for overhead cable TV installation.


-    Idaho Avenue between Meridian Road and NW 2nd Street will be closed April 5-June 29 for sewer work.

-    Idaho Street (north side) between 2nd Street and 4th Street will have lane restrictions April 3-7 for sewer main replacement.


-    Kuna Mora Road between Interstate 84 and Pleasant Valley Road will have lane restrictions with flagging April 4-July 10 for pavement rehabilitation.


-    Linder Road between Cayuse Creek Drive to Chinden Boulevard will have shoulder and lane restrictions April 1 to allow crews to pothole to locate utilities.


-    Locust Grove Road south of Mona Lisa Drive will have lane restrictions with flagging April 6-7 for gas service work.


-    Locust Grove Road (southbound) between Hempstead Drive to Chinden Boulevard will have lane restrictions April 3-7 to allow crews to fix a water leak.


-    McMillan Road at Leather Way will have lane restrictions April 4-5 to allow crews to replace a fire hydrant.

-    McMillan Road west of Black Cat Road will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-21 for utility work.


-    Overland Road between Ten Mile Road and Tech Lane will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-14 for utility work.

-    Pennsylvania Street west of Myers Street will have lane restrictions with flagging April 5-6 for utility work.


-    Pierce Park Lane south of Baron Lane will have lane restrictions with flagging April 4-5 for overhead cable work.


-    The intersection of Star Road and Blake Drive will have lane restrictions with flagging April 3-7 for manhole access.


-    Victory Road between Locust Grove Road and Meridian Road will be closed April 1-2 to allow crews access to install gravity irrigation across the road. No access will be allowed between Glacier Bay and Mesa Way.

-    Beacon Street from 100 feet east of Broadway Avenue to 100 feet west of Division Avenue will have lane restrictions with flagging April 4-5 for utility work.

-    Whitewater Park Boulevard between Regan Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue will have lane restriction April 3-14 for soil testing.

Motorists can expect delays in these areas, and should plan alternate routes of travel whenever possible.
